Configuration Technician
An excellent opportunity exists in our operations department based in Waltham MA.  We are in search of a highly motivated individual that possesses solid technical expertise combined with thorough production know-how.  Fundamental job responsibilities include configuring and testing our Linux based security appliances.  Candidates must be able to understand and consistently implement a wide range of customer driven system requirements. 

Selected candidate will work as part of the team responsible for the timely delivery of high quality products to our customer base.  Individual will be required to contribute to process improvement and quality tracking capabilities.  Solid technical skills in Linux OS, shell scripting such as Expect, Perl and standard server hardware are essential.  Willingness to do what ever is necessary to support the production process and provide positive business results.

Requirements

Consulting Engineer – Rapid Response Team
Guardium offers its customers a complete set of services to ensure successful enterprise implementations, timely deployment, and on-going product support and maintenance.  We offer services directly and through our network of certified resellers.

This full-time position is for an experienced consulting engineer to be a member of a Technical Rapid Response Team and to service customers worldwide.  The position includes working with sales engineers and customers on a variety of tasks such as pre-sales consultations, system configurations, development and customization of sales pilot systems, and supporting enterprise pre-sales efforts both remotely and at customers’ sites.  Prior technical consulting experience with database management, network architectures, and security implementation (including policy assessment and database firewall design for Fortune 2000 customers worldwide) is required.

Requirements

  • At least five years of industry experience
  • Experience with SQL on database platforms such as Oracle, Informix, SQL Server, UDB/DB2 or Sybase
  • Experience with UNIX shell environments. UNIX scripting or Perl programming desirable.
  • Experience with networking fundamentals

Regional Sales Manager
Guardium is seeking a regional sales manager for geographical territories in the U.S. As a combined direct sales and channel manager for existing partners, the successful candidate will work closely with inside sales and sales engineers to directly engage prospects in designing and selling database auditing and security solutions.  The role is primarily focused in the following areas:

  • Technology evaluation activities in support of direct and channel partner opportunities
  • Opportunity qualification and prioritization
  • Developing and managing business relationships with channel partners within the defined region
  • Building and maintaining an opportunity pipeline, forecasting and deal tracking, and participating in weekly forecast calls
  • Delivering high level feature/benefit executive presentations
  • Driving and/or assisting proposal production process
  • Working with sales order processing and customer service organization in pursuit of total customer satisfaction
  • Assistance with marketing and events planning activities across the region
  • Effectively communicating feedback from the field in support of customer references and business needs to the corporate business unit and marketing organization
  • Effectively utilizing Guardium’s resources and infrastructure to grow revenues
  • Support many sales opportunities both internally and externally across a wide geography, requiring extensive travel

Requirements
  • 5-10 years experience in the information technology industry with a sales background in at least one of the following areas: enterprise applications; database auditing; networking
  • Previous technically-oriented and sales-related roles are preferred
  • 5+ years experience in the database applications and security industry with a proven track record of sales success
  • Ability to effectively present and articulate the benefits of the solution as compared to the competition and in perspective of customer requirements
  • Conversant with an industry-recognized sales methodology. Must be highly experienced in sales qualification, financial justification models, requirements definition, risk analysis, and sales planning. Must understand how to identify business drivers, customer challenges, industry trends, and solution deployment methodologies
  • Appreciate common business needs, challenges, and terminology (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI, HIPAA, Basel II, ROI, and TCO) and be able to articulate how technology can address/impact these at an executive level. Industry vertical sector knowledge is an advantage (i.e., service providers, telecommunications, retail, finance, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Microsoft office applications expertise
  • Excellent multi-level written and verbal communication skills to CXX positions
  • Good listening and negotiation capabilities, as well as high quality presentation skills

Technical Services Engineer
Guardium offers its SQL Guard customers a complete set of services to ensure successful enterprise implementations, timely deployment, and on-going product support and maintenance.  We offer services directly and through our network of certified partners.

Full-time position in Waltham, MA for experienced technical services representatives working with customers on a variety of tasks.  Responsibilities include customer support, product installations remotely and at customer sites, diagnosis and resolution of reported issues, and solution customizations.

Requirements

  • At least five years of industry experience
  • Experience in customer support positions in the IT industry
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle, MSSQL, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments
  • Knowledge of networking basics
  • B.S. in engineering or information systems

Professional Services Consultant
Guardium offers its SQL Guard customers a complete set of services to ensure successful enterprise implementations, timely deployment, and on-going product support and maintenance. We offer services directly and through our network of certified partners.

This full-time position is for an experienced professional services representative who will manage customer implementations worldwide.  The position includes working with customers on a variety of tasks such as implementations, customizations, and supporting installations both remotely and at customers’ sites.  Prior consulting experience with database management, network and security (including policy assessment and database firewall design for Fortune 2000 customers worldwide) is desirable.

Requirements

  • At least five years of industry experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with SQL and a database platform such as Oracle, Informix, SQL Server, UDB/DB2, or Sybase is desirable
  • Knowledge of and experience with UNIX shell environments. UNIX scripting and Perl programming desirable
  • Experience with customer relationship management and production deployments
  • Security experience is desirable
  • Project management experience is desirable

Linux C++ Developer
This full-time position is for the Guardium R&D group and involves development of our next-generation security products.  Our R&D group is a small, highly professional, and focused team that is responsible for all product development.

Requirements

  • At least three years of C++ programming in a Linux environment and proficiency in C++ and OO design
  • Must be an excellent C++ developer with a broad range of C++ experience. Please do not apply if the bulk of your experience is with Visual C++
  • Extensive Linux/Unix scripting experience
  • Must have very strong Linux/Unix skills including writing scripts. Must be able to write robust code that runs as scripts, not only as C++ programs
  • Extensive networking experience
  • Must understand TCP/IP at an internals level, including protocol semantics, headers, iptables, and pcap. Must have experience with sockets (having written a few sockets programs is not sufficient.)
  • Experience with encryption, keys, certificates; experience with MySQL; experience with database environments (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2)
  • Lives in the Boston area and is a U.S. citizen or green card holder

Configuration Manager/Developer/3-Tier Support
This full-time position is for an individual with strong development, testing, and patch management skills. This position is available immediately.

The team member we are looking for wears many hats and functions as a developer, a QA tester, and a third-tier support person.  The configuration manager/developer/3-tier support:

  • Identifies the precise cause for a problem
  • Manages the process of receiving fixes from developers, as well as applying and testing them
  • Creates patches based on these fixes
  • Manages the configuration control system to support many patches and modifications
  • Manages the merge process into a single code line
  • Builds tools to be used for making this process more efficient

This is an extremely technical position. You will not manage a process devoid of the actual content. You must have strong Linux and development skills, as well as a deep understanding of distributed systems.

Requirements

  • Extensive Linux/Unix scripting experience; must have very strong Linux/Unix skills, including writing scripts
  • Extensive experience with CVS
  • At least one year of C/C++ programming in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Familiarity with Java
  • Networking experience – Understand TCP/IP well as a programmer and as a system administrator
  • Experience with MySQL
